Far Cry 6 Release Dateįar Cry 6 was originally set for a February 18 release date, but has been delayed to October 7, 2021. As is the case with most new games, an SSD is recommended over a hard drive if you want to get Far Cry 6 to play as intended. One thing's for certain: you'll need at least 60GB to install Far Cry 6 and a further 37GB if you want to install the optional HD texture pack - which only really applies to those of you playing at 1440p or 4K resolution.
Should you pack compatible hardware, you'll even be able to use AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution to eek out more performance. It's a similar story with gaming CPUs, as an Intel i5-4460 and AMD Rywill let you boot, but the Intel i7-7700 and AMD Ryzen 5 3600X are preferred. Ubisoft states that an Nvidia GTX 960 and AMD's Radeon RX 460 will be able to meet the minimum to run Far Cry 6 at 30fps, but the recommended graphics cards are the Nvidia GTX 1080 or AMD RX Vega 64. You'll want to bump this up to 16GB if you're interested in pushing more than 60fps, though. The Far Cry 6 system requirements are officially here, and the game will require at least 8GB of RAM to run.
